Stanhope plc named preferred development partner

Wiltshire Council, in partnership with Salisbury Vision, is delighted to announce Stanhope plc as its preferred development partner for the Central Car Park & Maltings site.

This decision is the culmination of a three stage selection process carried out by global real estate adviser, DTZ on behalf of the council and Salisbury Vision, which started in April 2011.

Jane Scott, leader of Wiltshire Council said:

“In Stanhope plc, we are delighted to have a capable and experienced development partner to bring forward the regeneration of this important site.  Investment in the Central Car Park and Maltings will play a vital role in  securing this city’s future as a first class shopping and leisure destination and I am delighted that we have taken a decisive step towards delivering this important goal.”

Sir Christopher Benson, Chairman of Salisbury Vision said:

“Stanhope plc have not only shown a clear understanding of the Vision and its aims for a comprehensively planned new quarter for Salisbury they have also demonstrated an awareness of the city’s history and the ‘once in a generation opportunity’ this site presents.  We are very excited to have Stanhope plc as our preferred partner and are looking forward to working with them to develop their initial concepts into a scheme of which this city can be proud.”
